While no one is perfect, we aim to align the spine within normal tolerances (think of a normal range of blood pressure, or blood sugar). In the same way we understand what a fever is because we know what a normal temperature is, or how high the reading needs to be before we say one has high blood pressure, we are aware of the normal ranges for our spinal alignment.
At Corrective Chiropractic, we are looking for significant three-dimensional shifts of the spine away from normal. If the head and neck shift in 3 directions, it will cause the shoulders and torso to twist, and the hips to compensate, forcing the spine out of alignment. These shifts cause the muscles to spasm, the ligaments and tendons to deform, and disrupt the NERVES travelling down the spinal cord.
